Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data the Bugfed Testers platform ("Platform", "we", "us") collects from Testers, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

By creating a Tester account you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

Data We Collect

Account & profile data

  • •Full name, email address, and phone number.
  • •Age, occupation, city and country, and a social/messaging handle (e.g. Telegram) used to contact you about test runs.
  • •Device details, including platform (Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, Linux), device model, and approximate price range, used to match you to relevant test runs.
  • •App categories and usage frequency, used for matching.

Testing activity

  • •Bug reports, screenshots, and submissions you provide during a test run.
  • •Test run acceptance, completion, and approval status.
  • •Points earned, redeemed, and payout requests.

Automatically collected

  • •Log data, including IP address, browser type, and timestamps, for security and fraud prevention.
  • •A theme preference stored locally in your browser.

How We Use Your Data

  • •Operate your account and match you to relevant test runs.
  • •Send verification codes, test-run notifications, and payout confirmations.
  • •Review and process payouts, including identity or payment-method verification where required.
  • •Detect fraud, duplicate accounts, and abuse of the referral program.
  • •Improve matching quality and platform reliability.

How We Share Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as follows:

  • •Service providers who help us operate the Platform: Supabase (database & authentication), our email provider (transactional and verification email), and push-notification infrastructure.
  • •The Client whose test run you complete may see your Bug Reports and submission content, but not your contact details unless you choose to share them.
  • •Legal requirements, where required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of the Platform or its users.

Data Retention

  • •Account data is retained for the lifetime of your account, plus 90 days after deletion to allow recovery.
  • •Test run submissions and bug reports are retained for 24 months after completion, then anonymised or deleted.
  • •Payout and billing records are retained for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting law.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@bugfed.com. We aim to respond within 30 days and may need to verify your identity first.

Security

  • •HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit.
  • •Row-Level Security policies so testers can only access their own data.
  • •Restricted access to production systems.

If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at security@bugfed.com.

Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and, where required by law, notified to you by email.
